Roller Compactor - Operation & Safety is part of VISTA's growing family of Silver Series online training programs, which are 1-2 hours in length and are delivered via the web. These training programs are ideal for new operator training as well as refresher training for experienced operators.
Roller Compactor are many times used as the starting position for new operators. Make sure your operators are well trained on this equipment as it looks easy to operate but can be dangerous.
Lesson 1 - Introduction: This lesson outlines uses of the roller compactor and why it is important. Trainees will learn operator responsibility and awareness as well as the importance of the operator’s manual.
Lesson 2 - Getting to Know Your Roller Compactor: This lesson describes the main components of the roller compactor, as well as important controls and alarms that operators must use and be aware of.
Lesson 3 - Pre-use and Post-use Inspection: Inspection is an important aspect to maintaining a safe work environment for operators and other workers, which is why this lesson covers each part of the roller compactor’s inspection in depth. Trainees will understand how to identify areas with broken or missing parts before and after use.
Lesson 4 - Operation: This lesson describes everything the trainee will need to know about starting the machine and then safely monitoring gauges, steering, and stopping/parking.
Lesson 5 - Operating Tasks: This lesson outlines some of the common tasks a roller compactor operator will be faced with, ranging from operating on a slope, leveling, perimeter passes.
